Greenland has the most beautiful scenery, seeing the icebergs was mesmerising. The ocean was so still, giving a perfect reflection. This shot was taken in Ilulissat under the midnight sun.
From the top of an iceberg, the view is quite something else. To get this shot I sent my drone up so I could get a good image of the icy formations that were quite far away from me. The drone allows me to get shots I never could on foot. Greenland has some of the best photographic opportunities of anywhere I’ve been in the world. The arctic landscape is always my most desirable.
I took this shot in Ilulissat on a hiking route. These young pups were braving the snow in the freezing temperatures of Greenland. Curious yet wary, these Greenlandic puppies will grow up to be sled dogs just like their mother. The snow made for a perfect portrait.
Dikso Bay, Ilulissat, Greenland. One of the many iceberg shots I got on this boat trip, but this one I found was unique as there was a shelf under the iceberg with icicles hanging over the edge of the water. Only 10% of the iceberg is visible above ocean, which is crazy when you see ones that look enormous.
This was one of my favourite icebergs I saw when sailing in Disko Bay on an icebreaker boat. The sound of the icebergs crashing against the sides of the boat was quite intimidating at first, but as the sailing went on I knew the boat was able, and built to, cut through the ice. It was a truly magical experience.
I took this shot while in Ilulissat looking in amazement at the Icefjord UNESCO world heritage site. Situated by the coastal town, the icebergs gracefully glide by in all their glory. I took a shot of the iceberg peaks that had cracked over time, these will split eventually into smaller icebergs.
Ilulissat's Disko Bay. In the Greenlandic summer time, you are certain to see icebergs making their way through the Atlantic Ocean. Each one has unique carvings which alter as the icebergs melt and break away. If you’re lucky enough you will see ice calving, even the smallest chunk will make the loudest noise echoing through the ice fjord.i loved the carving in the ice that have created natural little caves.
